03 Faculty
Julia Solomon MDCM, FACOG is a national and international authority on 3-4D ultrasound and fetal echocardiography, and lectures on these subjects worldwide. Her particular expertise is advanced prenatal diagnosis and fetal cardiac imaging.
Dr. Solomon is a Senior Member of and currently Chair for Obstetrics for the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, as well as a member of the Board of Governors. She is a Fellow and Member of American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a Member of Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and The Fetal Heart Society. She has also served as a co-director of the internationally known Phoenix Fetal Cardiology Symposium for the last 8 years. She has held both academic and clinical leadership positions in both Canada and the US.
She has published in these fields in the form of journal articles and book chapters, and reviews for several prestigious scientific publications. She has extensive experience with high level diagnostic ultrasound services, protocol creation, telemedicine interpretation, sonographer training and ultrasound system evaluation.
She teaches and conducts hands-on courses in a variety of ultrasound topics worldwide, and lectures for GE Healthcare in the Women's Health customer care (Voluson) courses. She is particularly proud of being able to increase the skill set of less experienced scanners and help them realize their potential. She is passionate about bringing this ultrasound knowledge to you and helping you provide patients with the best care and outcomes possible.
She is married to Ross and has a daughter, Bella, who rides competitively in Arabian equestrian events. She also has 4 Spinone Italiano dogs and shows the younger ones in AKC shows.
Valerie Jennings RDMS (AB, FE, OB/GYN), RVT is the lead sonographer at Fetal Diagnostic Center of Arizona with 10 years experience specializing in the imaging of high risk pregnancies including complex structural abnormalities, abnormal genetic syndromes and mono-chorionic twinning. Valerie has gained advanced experience in fetal echocardiography and is fetal echocardiography certified by the ARDMS. She also has extensive knowledge of volume based imaging (3-4D) and it's application to the assessment of structural fetal malformations.
Valerie provides support to FetalEchoBootCamp for additional hands on training during onsite courses to increase hands-on exposure and scan time as well as augment available CME course credits.
She graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Health Science in Ultrasound at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2009. Valerie is married to Jonathan and enjoys spending time with her 2 children, hiking and cooking.
